Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to your questions here. We answer all the most commonly asked questions. If you don’t find the answer to your question here, and only then, please email your question to pauline@managementskillscourses.com. If the question is covered here, you will not receive a personal response, but will be referred to this page.

1. When do I start my course?

As soon as you register and confirm we will email a link to your first segment, and you have started on the course. Access the material by clicking on the links we send you. We will then begin to send regular e-mails informing you of the next lesson in the course. Links are not time sensitive; you may study at times convenient to yourself.

If you have not registered yet, you can do so here. Management Skills Courses Enter your name and e-mail address in the form and press “Register”.

2. How long does the course take?

This depends which modules you select to study. Each segment will take about 6 to 8 weeks .Just after you complete the modules you have selected, you will be sent an email asking you to select the next module you wish to study, unless you have reached the end of the course or there is no new material available to send at the current time.

If you opt to study all the modules the course duration is about 2 years. We do add new content from time to time which may extend the course. You can work through the lessons at your own rate, and revisit ones that you found useful on the site by selecting the lessons tab on the navigation bar and choose the lesson you want to study.

3. Do I have to pay to access the course?

There is currently no charge for use of the website. The costs associated with the delivery of this training site are met by on page advertising only.

4. How do I get my certificates?

Certificates are awarded for the quizzes you take and pass Please see the list of modules and the accompanying quizzes available on the site under the Lessons tab on the navigation bar.

Once you have successfully completed a quiz, we issue a quiz certificate to your email address, using an automatic software system. The quiz records your score.

The certificate is automatically generated and sent to you by the quiz software. We don't receive them. They are in your emails. If you haven't kept them, you will have to take the quiz again

You can retake any quiz. Just re-use the link or go to the quiz via the lessons button on the toolbar.

Although the certificates are not currently accredited by any other body, you are welcome to collect them and present them to potential employers to support your application and demonstrate that you have studied with us.

5. What if I can’t access my lesson?

You can usually access your lesson by clicking the link provided. If this doesn’t work, copy and paste the link into your web browser, or type it in.

There are many reasons why the links may not work for you and we cannot diagnose individual problems. This will depend on how you are reading the email, in a program like Outlook or Thunderbird, or a browser. If you are using a mobile app, many old apps do not work properly.

The problem may be because the email has been seen as spam, if you have not added our email address to the white list. Again, how you do this will vary with factors discussed above. Please use the internet to find out how to do it for your particular programme, browser or app, or for advice and information about the other factors mentioned.

You can navigate to lessons for which you do not have the link, or if your link won’t open. Select the lessons tab on the navigation bar and choose the topic and lesson you want to study from the dropdown menu. If you have a lesson open, you can navigate to the previous, or next lesson, using the arrows just under the lesson.

7. How do I find a lesson?

Select the lessons tab on the navigation bar and choose the topic and lesson you want to study from the dropdown menu.

8. How do I search for a specific topic?

On a PC or laptop
By opening any lesson, and a search symbol is near the top right hand of your screen on the navigation bar. Put your search term in the bar and click on the most appropriate result.

On a mobile or tablet
Press the menu button and scroll down the menu items. Underneath them you will see a search box. Put your search term in the bar and click on the most appropriate result.

9. Why has nobody replied to my question?

We have more than 250,000 visitors to the site each week and receive hundreds of emails each day. We are a small team and cannot respond to individual questions.

10. I have asked for downloads to be emailed to me, why have they not been?

The site is free to use because it is monetised by Google advertising, so we need traffic on the site to operate free courses. This won’t happen if we send out PDFs. The content is distributed to you using an automatic system with links to the site. As above, we have more than 250,000 visitors to the site each week and receive hundreds of emails each day. We are a small team and cannot respond to individual requests. You can access the downloads from the site

11. Can I invite a friend or colleague to visit the website and join the course?

Yes, you can invite as many friends or colleagues as you like, just email this link to them Management Skills Courses

12. My name has been spelt incorrectly on my account. Is this important?

That will the name as you typed it when you enrolled. We can’t change your name for you, this is an automatic system.

This will NOT mean that your certificates will be issued in the incorrect name. You type your name when you are taking the quiz and this is used on the certificate

If you want to alter your name on the account, you will have to unsubscribe and then re-register.

If you do this during a module, you will lose the rest of the module, so we suggest you wait until you have completed your current module, then unsubscribe and re-register.

Unsubscribe by clicking on the link at the bottom of any of the regular emails we send you.

13. I want to start the course again, how can I do that?

As you reach the end of each selected module you will be asked to select your next one. Simply select a module you want to repeat, to take that again, as you reach the end of the current module

14. I want to change my email address; how do I do that?

It is not possible to do that as the email address is the key to your account. Once you reach the end of the module you are doing, please unsubscribe by clicking on the link at the bottom of any of the regular emails we send you, and then re-register. You will then receive emails offering you a choice of modules on the new account.

15.. I have unsubscribed in error; how can I get back on the course?

This is an automatic system. If you have unsubscribed in error, please go to Management Skills Courses and enroll again. You will then receive emails offering you a choice of modules on the new account. You will have lost the module you were studying at the time you unsubscribed in error, so may wish to select that one again.

16. I no longer want to receive your emails

Please unsubscribe by clicking on the link at the bottom of any of the regular emails we send you.

17.. Can I retake the quiz to get a better score?

Yes

Go to Management Skills Courses Select the “lessons” dropdown and choose your topic. Scroll down until you find the quiz, then open the lesson

18. I want to study in a language other than English

To study in a language other than English use the translation tool built into the site.

The website has a built-in facility to translate the content into many languages. On any device, just open any page, and an option to select the language displayed will appear in a dropdown box next to the Google logo. Click on the Select language bar and a list of languages will appear.

Select the language you would like the lesson displayed in, click on it, and scroll back up to the lesson content, now displayed in the language of your choice. You may need to repeat this step each time you revisit the site.

19. Can I get a completion certificate

We do not offer a completion certificate as we can’t track your progress on the course.
