Overview and general guidelines

The site is run by The Online Learning Group, a small private company which is a joint venture between S-net.co.uk ltd and Connect Soft ltd, two British companies who are interested in spreading useful information, advice and guidance on life and management skills.

Although a small amount of income is generated from advertising, there is not sufficient to maintain a support team, so all emails are handled by me, Pauline .Every email I receive reduces the amount of time I can devote to writing new course material, which I do for several courses and sites. We have literally millions of readers now, so just a tiny percentage of you writing to me means I can’t develop new material.

So we have provided these general guidelines, followed by some specific FAQs that do reflect our postbag. Please read them, then you will understand how it all works.

Briefly, the way this free online course works is that when you enroll, your name is added to our database. After you enroll you will be asked to confirm your registration by clicking on a link. This is to ensure no-one receives our emails without a “Double-opt in “agreement, and so protects you from spam.

The course is split into segments, such as starting a business, managing sales staff, marketing. You will be offered the course that relates to the advertisement that you clicked on to enroll.

Course duration depends on which modules you select. Each one lasts around 6-8 weeks. You get a short module every few days.

We email you lesson links; you click on them to read the content. Because you are studying online, the course is completely flexible to suit your lifestyle; you can read the modules at any time that is convenient for you, there is no intake or start date. The links are not time sensitive. You do not need to respond or acknowledge receipt, comment, submit work, justify a quiz result, or keep up with the schedule we send you. Where an assignment is suggested, or a question asked, this is to enable you to work through the material for your own benefit, we do not need to see your responses.

New lesson links are usually sent every few days. When you have completed your first segment you will be invited to take a quiz. A few days later you will be sent an email inviting you to choose what you wish to study next. You may repeat the segment or select another new one. You must click on the selection link rather than emailing your choice to us, because we use an automatic emailer, so if you don't make a selection you won’t receive courses.

We do not offer jobs, visa, or have any connection with recruiters. We do carry advertisements on our site, some of these relate to recruitment for jobs. You should apply directly to the advertiser if you are interested, rather than to us. We offer advice on how to apply successfully for work on our sister site What Is A Career.

You can search for topics;-

On a PC or laptop

By opening any lesson, and a search symbol is near the top right hand of your screen on the navigation bar. Put your search term in the bar and click on the most appropriate result.

On a mobile or tablet

Press the menu button and scroll down the menu items. Underneath them you will see a search box. Put your search term in the bar and click on the most appropriate result.

You can navigate to lessons for which you do not have the link, or if your link won’t open. Select the lessons tab on the navigation bar and choose the topic and lesson you want to study from the dropdown menu. If you have a lesson open, you can navigate to the previous, or next lesson, using the arrows at the bottom of the lesson.

Because the mailings are automatic, requests to hold the course while you are busy, or to mail on specific days or intervals cannot be accommodated. But you can use the links we send you whenever you like, irrespective of when the system sends you mail. You also have the option to navigate to the lessons on the site using the lesson button, without a link from us. Follow this link and select “lessons” from the navigation bar at the top of the page. https://www.managementskillscourses.com/

If you do not understand the lesson, lack of resources dictate that I cannot tutor you individually.

Please remember that this is a FREE course and that the costs associated with the delivery of this training site are met only by on page advertising. Ask a friend or colleague to explain or go through it with you, or just reread it. Use the internet for queries or additional information.

The site is free to use as it is monetised by Google advertising. For this reason, we only offer access to the content via the website, and do not provide PDFs or email content directly to your email account or via WhatsApp.

There are no entry requirements, anyone can enroll and study with us. This is not a University, so we can’t confer degrees, and you don’t graduate.
There is a translation tool on the site, which the reader must deploy. For details scroll down to translation tool.

If you no longer want to receive our emails, you do not need to ask us to stop emails. Please just unsubscribe by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of the regular emails we send you.

We do not ask you to complete any coursework, all courses are online and free, no books, videos or other materials are included. We do not offer tutor led courses or personal tutorials

As we have no access to public funding, we cannot offer scholarships, or sponsorships and we are unable to offer seed finance for new businesses.
We do not have the resources to be able to offer personalised advice on your business, personal circumstances, complete projects or assignments for you, or consult on your business

If you need to research a topic, for example to research competition, please use the internet.

Problem with links

Every day we have hundreds of people registering on our sites, so we know the process works.

However, if you are experiencing a problem with registration, this may be because you are using a configuration that is not compatible, so does not work, such as a make of mobile phone or version of browser. Please try again using another machine or browser.

If the links do not work, copy the URL’s and paste them into the address bar of your browser.

There are many reasons why the links may not work for you and we cannot diagnose individual problems. This will depend on how you are reading the email, in a program like Outlook or Thunderbird, or a browser. If you are using a mobile app, many old apps do not work properly.
The problem may be because the email has been seen as spam, if you have not added our email address to the white list. Again, how you do this will vary with factors discussed above. Please use the internet to find out how to do it for your particular programme, browser or app, or for advice and information about the other factors mentioned.
